Happy Birthday: Foyan

Nov 17 is the birthday of my friend, Foyan. She invited me and our Thai friend for a dinner with her other set of filipino friends based here in Singapore. She treated us at Fish and Co. at Glass House beside Park Mall and we had four (4) sets of seafood platter for two... (wow I was so full after eating) with total headcount of 10.

After dinner we headed to MOS, we hurried so we can catch up the HSBC promotion, that is bring a friend for a VIP pass. Not all of us went to MOS 3 left already after the dinner and since 4 of us in the group has HSBC cards, then all of us went in for free in a VIP lane (cool). The only catch was, we have to be there before 11pm. when people are just preparing to come to bars/clubs. So we found it a little boring at first, of course ambiance is dead, no people dancing yet, and some rooms/halls were still closed until 11pm. But yes, we did enjoy and celebrate to the max at the 2nd floor (sound of the 80's and that does not mean anything... lol). That even Heineken crew took as photo as caught celebrating! awesome! I left them still celebrating at 2am.

So to my friend Foy... many many many more birthdays to come.

Nov 18. Nothing much just slept until the afternoon and then prepare documents for Japan visa application.

Deepavali at Bintan

Nov 10-11, 2007. I spent my weekend at Bintan, Indonesia; the same place I have been before (link). I could have stayed there since Friday because I thought my friend Nathan from Philippines will be coming over but was postponed.

Well, nothing much was changed since my last visit there. I went there with my friend Wit to surf but the weather was bad, cloudy... and the waves are not even good for surfing. So what we did is just to swim... in pool and on the beach, play Nintendo DS, eat and had a good spa massage.

Since it was holiday when we went there, the ferry was packed as well as the hotel. Lots of white people this time around as compared to the last time I went there. This was a good holiday break for a very busy last quarter in the office. Next vacation will be on December..... I can't wait!

Our CEO's wedding reception

Nov 2, 2007. My weekend starts after 6.15pm when everybody are busy in the toilet changing their clothes for our CEO's wedding reception. Our CEO, Leslie, the groom and the bride Wendy is a former model (as what my colleague told me).

Reception was held at Fullerton basement ballroom. A pair of bear dolls was given to us in the registration section. We also became a little bit tipsy after a glass or two of wines while waiting for the ballroom to open.

When we are all in the room and waiting for the newly wed to come in. They showed us in wide screen projectors all the places the couple have been traveled, its like around the world! (wow!).
After that a few welcome speech from the groom and dinner of 8 course meal started to be served. In our table most of us are Filipino except for one Indonesian who had different menu. During the dinner time in between some shows on stage was performed. One performed playing with sax, some stand-up comedy featuring Kumar, a drag show performer in Singapore. Also from the picture a changing mask performer from China.

I was so full from the food, good quality food. When the last to set of meal were to be served, the couple started to hop per table for group picture taking. This was a nice event to start the weekend.
